MESSAGE TO PLAYERS

Dear Players,

Welcome to the new season (2009/10). We are very excited and looking forward to the coming season. We have been lucky enough to obtain the services of some players from the Para Districts Association. One of these recruits being Andrew Fracowski who will be captaining the A-Grade. With these recruits and the further development of our younger group we envisage an exciting time ahead.

We have enclosed the Preseason schedule with a word from Trevor. Note the Sunday sessions at St Jays Rec Centre which have been booked by the club and at no charge to the players. Let’s ensure we get a good turn out.

Also enclosed are two flyers regarding an Ashes Night and a BBQ/ Beer start of season gathering. We have organised these as to give us a good kick start to the year and a chance for you to meet some new players and catch up with the old.

The committee is currently trying to secure an oval for a 5th side. This is proving a difficult exercise but one we are very keen on. With regards to Captains for all grades except the A-Grade if you are interested in Captaining a team please speak to Graham Sandercock or Damian Murphy. We are also looking for a practise captain, if you no of anyone who is willing and capable please also contact Graham or Damian.

In final we have an excellent committee consisting of Graham Sandercock, Chris Pike, Damian Murphy, Warren McCard, Darren Cox, Adam Butcher and Matt Long. We have some good ideas for fundraising and Fun nights so please support them. We will be working hard to ensure you cricketers have all you need, if you have any feedback or problems please speak to one of us as communication is the key. I would also like to thank all those who help with our fundraising BBQs at Bunnings Parafield in May and June. They were lots of fun and very successful.

Regards
Damian Murphy

WORD FROM TREVOR

The smell is in the air, and another cricket season in fast approaching.

There has been a lot of hard work done off the ground in the off season to ensure that the future of our club continues to grow and succeed.

We have been fortunate enough to secure some quality signings for this season, which will enhance the young exciting group of players that were exposed to senior cricket last season and who all performed admirably.

This along with our core group of senior players, all makes for an exciting time for our club with the player depth we will have in all grades.

It is also exciting to see the one day side being reintroduced to ensure as many senior players are getting a game each week.

However, all the positive excitement can quickly erode if we are under prepared.

From an "a grade" perspective, the a2 competition this year will be extremely competitive and for us to continue to push to our vision of a return to a1, we need to be ready to go from ball one.

Points in the bank early are a must!

For all players, give yourself the best chance to play in the highest possible grade you can, as success is coming..

It is imperative that the indoor sessions programmed at St Jays are maximized, as bad weather can and will hinder outdoor preparation.

The outdoor sessions programmed will be a mixture of cricket related exercises and some fun, with the main focus on getting people together and building towards round 1.

REMEMBER

"IF YOU FAIL TO PREPARE, BE PREPARED TO FAIL"

SEE YOU THERE!!!

TREVOR SHEPARD

SEASON 2009/10 PREVIEW

Season 2009/10 is fast approaching and we are expecting big things.  The vision of the Ingle Farm District Cricket Club is quite clear - we want to have our A Grade playing in the A1 competition in Adelaide Turf.  To assist us in achieving this goal as quickly as possible we would like to make the following announcements.

The Club Coach for 2009/10 will be Trevor Shepard.  Trevor has been our A Grade captain and Coach over the past two seasons and has done an outstanding job.  While Trevor has decided to hang up the boots and bat, he will now dedicate his time to coaching the team.

Our A Grade captain for 2009/10 will be Andrew Frackowski.  Andrew is a talented batsmen and knowledgeable cricketer who comes to us after having a successful season with Kilburn in A2 last year.  Along with Andrew, we would also like to welcome the following players to our club.

Chad McInnes
Chris McLean
Ben Stamatovich
Jimmy McCarthy

While we have aspirations to get our A Grade playing in A1, we are also looking to grow our club by entering a fifth side in the One Day competition.  The One Day competition will cater for a number of players who struggle to commit to 2 Day cricket and will allow us to give more players an opportunity to play Senior cricket each week.  However, the fifth side is subject to finding a suitable ground and this will be a main priority for the committee.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT 2008/09

Overall the Ingle Farm District Cricket Club has had a pretty good year.

  • Our A-Grade consolidated its spot in A2 by winning 6 games and finishing 6th.

  • Our B & D Grade were knocking on the door of the top four.

  • And of course our C-Grade, led by Jack Pryor had a great year in making the Grand Final.

Our juniors also had another Great year.

  •  We fielded 8 teams in total which included 2 x U/17 teams

  • Our U/13’s and U/15’s were premiers

  • And we were also runners up in the U/17’s and U/13’s

Of course, this didn’t just happen and it is the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people. Therefore I would like to thank a lot of people for their contributions throughout the year.

Firstly I would like to thank every member of the committee for their efforts throughout the year.

Of course we cannot play turf cricket without the proper equipment, so I would like to thank Jeff Pike and John Clark for their efforts in refurbishing our heavy roller before the beginning of the season

  • To our curators, Graham Boyle who prepared our centre wicket on the main oval and Steve Hay who did the practice wickets and the school wickets.

  • Well done to Mick Ahren for putting your hand up and co-ordinating our junior programme and also to all Junior Coaches.

  • Thanks to all Captains and a special thanks to Kai Dockerill for taking on the D-Grade job

  • Thanks to all the players who put in a great effort all year and achieved some excellent results.

  • Thanks to all supporters who turned up each week, in particular Ray McCard, Brian Pill, Ray Ashford, Steve Brand and Brett Kelly for their loyal support of the A-Grade.

  • Thanks to all sponsors.

I would like to pass on a very special thank you and congratulate Trevor Shepard for what he has done for our club over the last two years. Trevor will not be playing on next year but will remain as club coach.

Congratulations to all the individual trophy winners. Let’s make sure we are back next season.

Regards,
Graham Sandercock
